The British Medical Journal publishes an intelligent commentary by Jeremy Sare, former secretary to the UK's Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs and former head of drug legislation at the British Home Office. He warns that, "in drugs policy, there remains an unparalleled disconnect between power and knowledge. And power means both ministers and media who, on drugs policy, are intertwined in a deadly embrace. " His excellent commentary is well worth reading. What he has to say about British politicians and media is equally true here in the U.S..
